Ok, thanks for the info, I'll look at both options as I'm not able to do much/any soldering ATM so an easy replacement unit may be the quick fix.
You only really need to recap if it's showing signs of failure to be honest, such as lack of sound from the machine.

Re: other must haves, only really a Lightning USB with Apple USB ethernet adapter. Maybe a BlueSCSI or ZuluSCSI to replace the hard disk.

If you want to go high res then there's an adapter for that.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Thanks for the suggestions @stephen_usher - I may need to add one of your cart port adapters to the list as well! ;)

I might already have a BlueSCSI adapter somewhere but I'll need to check what connectors it has ..

The latest PiPico based BlueSCSI are lightyears better than the original ones and can give you ethernet over SCSI (Dynaport) WiFi access. I'm not even sure why they're still called "BlueSCSI" as they don't use a "blue pill" Arduino and are architecturally completely different.

I've just dug mine out - it's a BlueSCSI v2 with a Pi Pico WH fitted and has a 50 way SCSI connector so it might just connect directly to the internal TT bus (with any luck...).

So certainly something for me to read up about and give a try a bit later!

Thanks!

Well, a non-retro update...

I'm currently at the hospital awaiting a cataract operation in about an hour - quite short notice of the op due to another patient cancelling.

Might be out of the loop for a bit until things settle down & I can get a new set of glasses.
