Interesting...so any hints on how can we tell if our adapters will be ok?stephen_usher wrote: Fri Oct 16, 2026 3:20 pm Just popped over to see @dad664npc, who, as it turns out, lives less than a mile away!
He verified that the PiStorm board I have is the problem. Although it works perfectly with an Amiga A500 in a LazaruStorm adapter it's just too slow for the ST.
P.S. Testing with my Pi4 and everything works fine.
Can all registered uses please login, even just for a few minutes..
It helps build a picture where our "good traffic" is coming from..
Thanks :)

Ok, will try to test the couple I have working in A500s in an H4 with my Pi4 as soon as I can.

This is the one which doesn't work:
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Re: General Stuff(tm)
@exxos a quick question.... do you still have the complete TOS 2.06/3.06 source code and information about creating a tool chain to build it?
The reason I ask is that I would like to try to build a PiStorm targeted version in the same way as you did for the TF536. I've tried that version on the PiStorm and it has "issues", such as miscalculating the amount of TT RAM.

Re: General Stuff(tm)
TOS sources are on ottos github pages..
Tool chain.. The only way I could get to work was using the compiler in Gemini desktop running under Hatari. I've not found a better way to compile yet. But will probably ask AI to figure it out next.
You mean you tried my ST536 TOS? Original TOS displayed the wrong ram figure.. That was corrected.. But you won't get more than about 60mb of TTram with ST536 ROM by design.
Be a whole lot easier to use EMUTOS?

Ah, thanks. Which compiler was that? Alcyon?exxos wrote: Sat Oct 17, 2026 11:31 pm TOS sources are on ottos github pages..

EmuTOS is *SLOW* TOS 2.06 is about 10% faster when running Frontbench. You mean you tried my ST536 TOS? Original TOS displayed the wrong ram figure.. That was corrected.. But you won't get more than about 60mb of TTram with ST536 ROM by design.

Re: General Stuff(tm)
I think so yes. It produces binary identical ROM images to the original.
I've not had time to figure out how to use more modern compilers yet. Probably a lot simpler to figure out on a Linux distro.
Would it really matter if the thing runs crazy fast anyway? IMO you will have a lot less headaches if you use EMUTOS.stephen_usher wrote: Sat Oct 17, 2026 11:38 pm EmuTOS is *SLOW* TOS 2.06 is about 10% faster when running Frontbench.
