That doesn't look too bad a design in terms of safety.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Still doesn't look much gap on the top track as its mains. Not much clearance to the ground pad either.. or much gap between the N-E-L pins on the connector, looks smaller gap than what flashed over on the switch PCB!

Managed to stop coughing long enough to remove the Videl !

A quick power up test and now the power light isn't flashing like a disco anymore!

Not sure if the Falcon runs without a Videl ? I assume it would run the diagnostic cartridge via serial as the Videl is really just a output device. Will have to wait until next week now eitherway.

In the back of my mind I seem to recall it's somehow involved in ST-RAM accesses. Does it do the bus multiplexing or something?

Videl is connected to ram yes. There be no ram at all, but the diagnostic cart should still boot... I think..

It will be surprising/interesting if you can get the diagnostic cart to do anything without Videl on the board. It handles all RAM activity via the Combel and the Combel can decide who gets on the bus.

Maybe you'll see something happening on a LA for a few instructions but I wouldn't expect too much.

(very neat desoldering work though :thumbup: )
