in 1968 my mom had twins, she couldn't afford to feed us there for she tried to drown the ugliest, needless to say I learned how to swim at a very young age.

I had for about a year an atari 1200 XL and later a Mega ST. And since then the party really began. Today I have no hardware. I use hatari (like everybody else. I love to program it, I'm loving GFA Basic, Hisoft Basic, pure C and pure pascal. Ive seen them all and programmed these languages since 1986 or so. and love them all.

Welcome to the forum!

While the emulators are good (and useful) I find that there are still a few applications where the real h/w is hard to match (music & MIDI for example - where you just want to switch on and be creative and not worry about OS or app updates affecting your system).

I personally use both emulated systems and real (often upgraded) hardware to scratch that retro itch
