I thought that too. Changed res and it still has that purple dark mode.

Odd if desktop doesn't work, but loading a game does

Yes there is a colour test. I also reverted to original configuration to compare.

How odd.. half looks like its not bright enough.. but doesn't explain odd colours getting mixed in...

maybe I have screwed up one of the RGB lines on the chip or something

Also using DiagCart in original mode the background is blue with white text.

Using the Video DAC board the background is black with slightly yellow text.

I'll start to take a look. In the mean time here is the boot to desktop using the Video DAC board.

I would build it, see if you have the same issues.. I mean maybe its a bad chip
