If you claim that several IPFs are modified, please identify them individually and explain exactly what was modified, why it is incorrect, and what the original data should have been. General statements are not sufficient. Technical claims require technical evidence.

In other words, if you claim that a dump has been modified, the burden of proof is on you, not me !
I don't think that the burder of proof is on me at all. But this is not the place. If you want to discuss this, move over to the main thread at atari-forum.

My main point here is that file format has no direct relation with data verification. An IPF file can be completely different than the original. With current publicly available tools you don't even have to be an expert to create a fake IPF for that matter (not saying at all this is the case with images at the repository, just that it is possible).

You're coming too late. Disk Analyze is out since years now, the SPS tool is not the only one allowing to make IPF files. I can only be warrant of the files i'm making and processing myself.

An IPF can be completely different than the original ? The original datas, gaps, tracks, timings are preserved. That's what matters, and that's more than enough.

But once again, I see that you make the EASY claim : "modified IPF out there", without giving any examples.

It's like in real life Ijor : People pointing "it's wrong/It's modified/it doesn't work" are IGNORED ! Because it has NO value whatsoever.

Come with the facts, otherwise i'm deaf to your complaining.

I will be as respectful as you are. Respectfully, my point remains the same: a general statement about possible modified IPFs is not evidence against a specific archive. If you know a concrete example, please provide the filename(s) and the technical differences found."
