It's powered directly from the Tube interface. A very simple upgrade.

The biggest problem is remembering the *FX commands to control it. :-)
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Thanks :)

I thought it might be the case so that makes it nice and easy, better get the software downloaded and get it tested, provided I can find a suitable cable. If not I'll make one up.

Better make myself a cheat sheet for the codes :)

I often see that people with a passion are the ones to befriend, as retro passionist(c) we all have a love for these old computers.

This woman probably noticed the same spark in your eyes.

That is why I hate people who are into Retro only to make a buck..

I'm in it for the love of retro only. I may sell the odd thing here and there but I doubt it'll ever make me rich and thats't the way I like it.

It still amazes me to this day that after all the time that expired between first contact and when the machine came to me, that people just wanted it to go to a good home and found a way. I try to do something good for retro daily if I can :)

I have the latest build but there is no firmware directory included, I don't suppose you have a copy at all?

Thanks

I've only the internal one for the BBC Master.I'll have to get the machine down from the loft and open it up to get the SD card off.

Don't worry if it's a pain to get to, I don't want to put you out. I thought you may have an image hanging around.

I'm going to try a different cable next, but I have downloaded the latest release from github and dropped onto a known good FAT32 SD card. If I just connect to power and HDMI it does boot and gives the 4 quadrants of colour it's supposed to as I understand.

I have read there is supposed to be a firmware directory, but that is not part of the ZIP I downloaded from github.

My BBC B just doesn't see it.

I think there's some additional code required for the Tube interface to work on a Model B (already present in the Master OS, maybe also on the B+).

IIRC this applies for any co-processor so it's not running on the Pi

Only based on some preliminary research before I get one at some point, not personal experience.

So it looks like I had a bad cable, but something is not right still. On boot I get a single beep and this error:

I've not read anywhere that additional code is required in the github pages or wiki. I've posted a request for help over at Stardot, but that error looks like it might be failing trying to load a 6502 copro.

It feels close...
