Hatari disk image on BlueSCSI ver 2

Looks like I've made progress.

Now have the image file partitioned, and files copied across via a GEMDOS drive and all seems well.

The image is usable and bootable in Hatari on both Mac and Windows machines, with or without mounting a GEMDOS drive so I'm comfortable the image is solid.

My SCSI port works without a problem so fingers crossed when I plug the SD card in to the BlueSCSI tomorrow, HDriver should pick it up.

I'd suggest you just power up the BlueSCSI with the SD card inserted before you connect to the machine.

Give it a moment to check any indicator LEDs flash as expected then power off and if it's like my older devices, it should have written a log file on the SD card that you can check to see if the image has been mounted as expected and there are no errors.

The BlueSCSI requires specific file names for the images so make sure you follow the naming protocol for your image files.

Thanks for the tips, I'm hoping to be able to try it out this afternoon.

Right now my image is simply called "example.hda", I think that it correct but will check out the documentation this morning.

Bloody hell, I was hoping not to reach out for help so soon but here we go!


SD card formatted as EXFAT with sector size if 512 bytes.

Image renamed as HD10_512.hda

Tested that image file o the card with Hatari and all ok.

Plugged in to the BlueSCSI and I get a flashing green or yellow LED (I have slight colour blindness!) - it flashes five times, pauses, and flashes 5 times again over and over until I power off.

No log file is written to the disk.

Am I doing something obviously wrong here?

but my first instinct is to recommend you play around with more SCSI ID's, perhaps the machine doesn't like ID 1.

I agree, I used HD00 for the first disk on my BlueSCSI. However, you have a more fundamental issue.

For it flashing 5 times, it states in the documentation that the SD card is not found, so I'm not surprised you didn't get a log file written.

It suggests you try a different brand of SD card, exFAT is recommended, but FAT32 will also work so you could try that too.

Thanks both, yes I'm just about to try another card as it flashes in the same pattern with a card installed or not.

And great shout on Discord - I always forget about that for support, I tend to just use for talking to my Son!

My cable has arrived now so if I can get over this issue, I could be very happy later on!
