Greetings from Finland

Post by UulaP »

Hello all.

I've never had Atari until the end of last year when my friend was offloading his retro computers and he happened to have one 520 ST+ namely.

I bought it off of him just to try and it was a disaster. There was no floppy, mouse, display cable or psu.

So, first I bought psu, display cable and ACSI2STM. Just to find out there is almost no games that would run because of the TOS version (1.0) and lack of memory.

That led me to this place and I ordered the TOS 1.04 and STM 4MB upgrade, because why not :D

The machine was a mess inside (it seems like there has been some kind of memory upgrade earlier because there was cut traces). Anyhow, though I haven't had soldered much I decided to take the bull by the horns and started working.

After around 6 hours I now have an Atari 520ST+ running TOS 1.04 with 4megs of ram. The installation was laborous to me, but not so complicated.

Cheers.
