At 8mhz it does indeed.for about 5 mins anyway, then bombs.

It was more a trial for my TF534 but had to  when it booted to desktop.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

Well MEGA ST not the most stable things out of the box ;) Though I don't think TF did a final firmware for the ST anyway ? Would be interesting to see a 8MHz 030 benchmark ;)

Yeah I think you are right, as I have his ST firmware but csnt remember if I flashed it to that.

This mega is fine except for the gold ram, which is a bit slow too, so that might not be helping things. That and probably need a bigger PSU now.

Only tried it with the IDE as I've not made a Rom hoard yet

It's official, I hate these round pin headers and sockets.

I thought I'd popped my IDE adaptor, turns out it's these stupid headers. So good news but annoying nonetheless.

So anyway, back on track, I've just soldered it up on another ST board with no problems either, so bring on V2.

I share your pain. I hate any sockets or connections full stop.

Well I managed to get the DEV board onto the Remake that is running at 16MHz. I have a few teething items but the IDE interface is working well.

Running at 16MHz we have a new transfer rate ~2825 kb/sec

This was my result on a stock 8Mhz machine:

Good result at 16Mhz then.

The IDE interface at 16MHz has been very stable over today.

I am so impressed with the speed in that it makes the ST perform at, that I had to make a small video to show how quick it takes to load Frontier from IDE CF card.

The first part of the video also shows the memory check speed that 16MHz makes quicker to perform.
