In light of discussions over in the for sale thread. I have started to plot a more specific STE version.
I'm still not sure if there would be enough height for the CPU to go into a socket. But the shielding could actually be cut around that area anyway. My hope is that there will be enough room and that the shielding could actually be used as a heatsink for the CPU.
Please note because of my RSI I'm not able to do much routing on this at any one time. But I have made a start.

Board routeing competition at Cyberlegends?
Musical chairs style, everyone has to do half an hour and the "winner" is the person sat down when DRC passes.

Re: ST536 STE EDITION
I think you could be 'on the money' with this. I'd certainly solder a CPU if it meant having it so conveniently inside an STe. There are two 020 STe projects being released at the moment, so I think this kind of device is definitely something people want and the enthusiasts would punt for an 030 over an 020.

With a little tweaks it becomes like "mob programming" : the person on the chair is "the driver" i.e. just do what the others ("navigators") tell him to do.Badwolf wrote: 23 Sep 2022 15:19Board routeing competition at Cyberlegends?

I just realised that's the ROM mounted above the CPU pins! Genius.exxos wrote: 27 Sep 2022 11:32 More done. This will have to be it for a few days now because my hands are starting to hurt again :(
