Next generation of power supply using different switching technology which is now more efficient and has advanced RF filtering. It has all the previous protections including the overvoltage crowbar etc. Line and load regulation should be similar to my previous gen PSU.

This power supply has separate 5 V and 12 V preset so you can adjust them to suit your computer or needs. You can vary the voltage by approximately +/- 0.5V.

110V CONFIGURATION

NOTE:
These now come pre-fitted with the ST connector (~£7) or Falcon connector (£~12). Please note this will have inherently increased the price per the power supply. Also note that these power supplies cost around £20 more to produce now than they did a few years ago. I shopped around for the best deals on parts etc and that's the best I could do in today's market.

ADDENDUM 2026

Re the transformer wires, as a few people have now had trouble with the case or shielding not sitting right, here is what to check.

Coloured wires (black, red, orange, yellow)
These should be pulled tight and run downwards around the outside of the transformer. If any of them are sticking up over the metal plate on top of the transformer, adjust them so they do not overlap each other, then gently rotate the transformer to the left to take up any slack.

Mains wires (the 4 white sleeved ones)
Same idea. They should not overlap each other and should not run over the top metal plate. They should be pulled down like in the example image.

If the wires will not stay where they should, they can be clamped under the top left screw with something like a plastic P-clip.

Basically, nothing should be sitting above the metal top plate. If anything is, it needs adjusting, otherwise the metal shielding may not fit. Think of it like a proper 1980s haircut, everything combed down flat with nothing sticking up on top.

Metal shielding
My recommendation is to just leave the metal shielding off. If you do fit it, glue some heat resistant material about 1 to 2mm thick on top of the transformer so it cannot touch the shielding. This is to avoid any risk of a shorted primary on the transformer when the metal shielding is used.
