Nope. Close though he is a children's story character. Not a main character though.

On the other hand if my soldering improves my Caricature would have to be (see if anyone gets the reference):
Hmm.. is that 007 in retirement? :? :? :?

Tiny update.

This will make more sense when people see was involved with the 16 MHz modification..

Where DE from the GLUE to MMU must be cut and routed to other logic.. So this now has a jumper, to save the track cutting on the next board.

I have been wondering about trying to integrate the 16 MHz modification onto this revision of the motherboard, but as there is a lot of work yet to do, it would end up delaying this motherboard even further. But whatever modifications are done to the Alpha, they still will be relevant to the H1 board.

The current status of the H1 is basically this..

All the modifications which have been done need to be sorted out on the PCB side of things yet.. I will add the simm socket soon.. But I think with so many modifications and additions already done ( There was a lots just fixing all the issues from the Alpha starters, plus the addition of the video DAC, many chips changed, see the start of the post more information about it all) , I think this board should just stop at the state it is in now, otherwise we will just be making far too many changes at once.

It will already take me a while to sort out the PCB side of things without making any further changes to it. I do hope to make a start on this very soon.. Of course it will take a long time before we can consider a run of these boards.. But I'm just letting people know that I'm starting to think about tidying up this board..

I also suggest people check the H1 Schematic and make sure I have implemented all the bug fixes from the alpha correctly..

Been doing a little bit of tidying up on the schematic and board, I have also added in a total of 4 DIP 68000 sockets which will be basically the expansion sockets.. For example the SEC booster, fast-ram board, IDE can use 3 sockets easily.

I have also started some routing.. I will autoroute the bulk of it, but "sensitive" things like audio & video I always route manually. See my blog for a bit more info on routing progress https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =70#p21629

I don't think anyone has checked the H1 against the Alpha & mods to make sure I have done them all yet....

Currently, I am waiting for Icky to send me a blank motherboard so I can check proper locations of sockets and holes etc. Hopefully I can get that done over the next couple of weeks.. The PSU holes & floppy holes should be OK as they are, but its best to check against a blank board (with paper print outs) to make sure! I need to add all the screw holes, support post holes etc yet.

If we have good results with the 16MHz mod, I will see if I can work out how to add it onto the H1 (well we on H2 now) but we need to be able to switch back to 8MHz as well. So I think it will be a while before that project is completed.

I will likely not do anymore mods to this MB now (other than swapping to SMT GLUE & MMU, but its un-decided yet see https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =73&t=1854). with all the patches & mods, plus all the other stuff added, its probably had way to many changes in one go already.

Progress is slow, but its still moving ahead a little at a time. Main hold up currently is the 16MHz mod. So the more people patching the Alpha to try it , the better.

Have started to look at this. Will shout if I see anything. Nothing glaring so far.

I can support this too... can't solder, so, just support

Just out of curiosity, could the extended joystick ports be added?

The ST chip set doesn't support the extended ports...
