Atari diag card issue

A Friend of mine have buy this card.

It don't work at home.
I take it and check if I will better luck.
Nop...don't work also on my side.

I have other atari 'test card' tested well on m'y atari ste
So, it's not a atari issue.

Maybe programmation of the chip or jumper configuration ?
Any help will be appreciate

The jumper settings look like Mega-STE, is that the Atari you're trying to use it in?

Also be aware, if someone plugs this in upside down, it will break it.

You have the jumpers configured for MSTE not STE.

Also going by the colour of the head you may need to actually clean the contacts several times as they look dirty already.

You can be sure I've already tried every possible jumper configuration.

Don't go by the photo for the pins either—they're very clean.

Nevertheless, just to make you happy.
Reset jumper for STE and cleaned the pins
Tested on STE => No boot, blank screen
Reset -> Same result

Connected as photo, Silk on Top

My only suggestion is make sure none of the jumper feels loose and to wipe and reinsert several times into the STE. Most issues are bad connections on the cartridge port. All of the cartridges are tested before they are sold in the store.

If your friend has plugged it in upside down at some point, it would have likely killed the ROM and the small IC on the board, check to see if either are getting hot.

Already checked and I have already did that.
My atari work perfectly with other diagnostic card and/or ST ripper, no issue.
But this card don't work on all Atari we have (ST and STE)

I'v dumped the 27C4096 With my GQ4X and ADP054
For me, it's seems a correct dump.
Any body can chec this ?

Note : SMD already checked with infraRed Camera, no short, no cut, not 'hot dot'
Also check 5V line on the board, no short

When you say it doesn't work, do you mean the system boots normally to the desktop or something else?

If the former, then obtain and run Sysinfo. You can ask it to dump pages of memory. The cartridge range starts at 0xFA0000.

That should give us a clue.

Otherwise, what is the failure mode exactly?

???, Don't work, I can't be any clearer than that.
White screen ,no respond.

- Card connected, PowerOn, white screen.... reset...white screen...
- PowerOff and card disconnected
- No card connected, PowerOn, Atari desktop display
- PowerOff
- Other 'Test card' connected, PowerOn, Service diagnostic display

So, it's dump is correct, There's only one thing left in the equation: 74HC86
I'm going to change this one; we'll see how it goes.

I really suggest you not change the SMT chip, not unless you have proper experience and skills else you may make things worse. You then introduce unknown factors and then it be impossible to figure out the problem.

If you really think the card is at fault, resolder the PLCC socket and try again. Changing the SMT chip should really be last resort and really shouldn't be needed unless it's been known killed , but normally they would run hot in that case.
