JezC's latest aTTempt

Post by JezC »

So, as I briefly mentioned in my main topic, I recently took delivery of a TT from Germany :D

Pictures will follow soon but it sports an interesting replacement for the hard drive housing in that it's of metal construction and includes a CD drive on top of the hard drive.

I've not yet worked out what motherboard revision it is but it had 4Meg of ST and 16Meg of TT RAM fitted.
The label on the bottom denotes it as a 2Meg memory version originally & the two RAM upgrade boards are both copyright Atari 1991 (if that means anything)

The hard drive does actually work and so does the CD drive (but the latter has a bit of a sticky tray mechanism :( )

The paper label near the front left of the motherboard says CA401146-001 Rev H

The PCB is marked as CA400770 (no Rev indicated) near the right front

More on this one soon (I hope)

All the TTs seem to have 2MB on the underneath. My one does but it was bought almost directly from Atari with 4MB+4MB.

Does the PCB have the ROMs under the hard drive bay? If not then it it's a later board.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

No, seems to be RAM on the right (under the hard drive bay) and the ROMs look to be near the front left, under the other memory board (this one has 4x SIMMs fitted).

I've just looked at the VME card & that appears to be some sort of video card (with a single 15 way VGA-style connector) - based on it having a 6845 on there (which IIRC is the video chip in the BBC Model B)

#Well jealous
It's one of two Atari 16/32/64 I don't have.
Pictures?
I had hoped to get one and fit Thunder & Lightning cards

So, you have a later, probably all SMD version of the motherboard. You cartridge port probably doesn't need any anti ringing filter.

Sounds like some sort of video card for an 8 bit emulator or something in the VME slot.

The ROM on the right side is ST RAM only, the TT RAM board will be front left, just behind the ROMs.
