PM me when you get a chance and we can discuss it.

I'll post a photo of the board as it is now for reference.
Will do, thanks.

Tempting as it may be, after the house space 'restructure', I only have room for desktop style stuff (other than whats on the top of the stack; the TF536/H5). So that would mean a 128D. Also, @rubber_jonnie seems very keen!

Besides, all this time waiting to set up my workstation environment over Xmas has meant my idle fingers have been stuck in messing about coding with our new 'project'. New topic to follow, once we get the actual real HW working properly.

Resurrecting one of my old topics.

Back when I was fixing my C128D I acquired a few other bits, including a couple of non functional motherboards, lots of new chips, remake motherboards etc. Probably cost me more than the original C128 to be honest.

Anyway,I got one of the motherboards, added a stereo Sid, midi, fm solution and then put it on the shelf, thinking I'd get round to doing something with it at some point.

So last week I rescued it from the middle of the projects pile and have acquired another C128D case. This one is standard but is totally empty, no drive, PSU or anything, just the case. Now that it's arrived, the old C128 motherboard has a home. Its got to be modified from a standard C128 to a C128D to fit in the case, which is pretty easy.

I'll need to do the following:

Remove power socket and power switch from the motherboard.
Fit headers on the motherboard where the internal PSU would normally connect to the motherboard.
Fit a floppy drive reset switch.. (not sure if I really need it but will fit it whilst its out of the box.)
Wait for my remake PSU PCBs to arrive. (on their way from JLC.)
Fit a filtered IEC socket to the case and route the power via a rocker switch to the new PSU.
Make up some kind of PSU mounting bracket for the new PSU.
Mount a fan on the air inlet (no idea on this yet.)
Modify one of my spare C128 internal keyboards to work as an external one, or find my PS/2 adaptor wherever I put it.
Fit some kind of floppy drive replacement. I'm reluctant to fit a pi1541 as that's what killed my last C128D motherboard but we will see.
Boot it up and have fun with it.

Photos to follow as things progress. Reminds me I must tidy up my desk so I've got space for it
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
