Re: Life, the universe & everything...Atari (well, mostly)
I'm out of the op & waiting for my lovely wife to drive & collect me.
Apologies in advance for any typos in my next few posts - might be better for me to wait until I'm on a computer screen rather than trying to use my mobile for a bit...

My grandad said that having his cataract operation(s) were the best thing he ever did (health wise) and his only regret was that he didn't have them done sooner, instead choosing to live in a murky fuzzy world for years.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. I hope it proves as successful for yourself.

Glad to know you're back home !
Re: Life, the universe & everything...Atari (well, mostly)
Feeling a lot better today, thanks - windy weather and cats made for a disturbed night but using an older pair of my glasses is already showing a marked improvement in my distance vision!rubber_jonnie wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2026 3:48 pmI hope you're having a rest now!!JezC wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2026 3:42 pm

I'm still very sensitive to bright light (supposed to last up to 48 hours) but ok beyond that
Just 4 weeks of eye drops 4 times a day..
Re: Life, the universe & everything...Atari (well, mostly)
Thanks - yes, my right eye is tons better already! No need to do my left eye yet (but I can see a yellow tink through the left eye compared to the right one now).alexh wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2026 3:51 pm My grandad said that having his cataract operation(s) were the best thing he ever did (health wise) and his only regret was that he didn't have them done sooner, instead choosing to live in a murky fuzzy world for years.

I could even see the seas on the Moon clearly this morning with my older glasses - first time in years, so I will gladly take that.
Re: Life, the universe & everything...Atari (well, mostly)
Thank you.
What is normally an hour each way took 2 hours for my wife to drive in and about 90 minutes for the drive home.
All this for around a 34 mile drive each way
