Out of curiosity where did you get it from? The last one on eBay I saw looked a bit nasty but it was cheap (under £90 delivered) and working.rubber_jonnie wrote: Thu Jul 30, 2026 9:46 am Well, the Enterprise is on the way, ETA 1st September!!!

I was watching some and had offers on all of them, but mine cam out the cheapest including shipping so I took the plunge.

Re: Stuff and Things.
Well, thats the first of 5 RGB2HDMI boards built.
I have 5 more CPLDs on the way so I can build the rest plus finish my Atom RGB2HDMI board. Aside from the CPLD soldering it's a really easy build, and even the CPLD isn't that bad.
Also, once you get the Pi connected and booted, it'll even let you program the CPLD from the RGB2HDMI menu having detected an unprogrammed device.

Shame I don't have 5 RPis lying around!!!

Yes I found them to be nice and easy board to build when I did the one for my Atom, not tried any of the others yet though.rubber_jonnie wrote: Tue Aug 18, 2026 2:26 pm

Re: Stuff and Things.
I've done several now, though I didn't build the one for the Amstrad PPC512 screen upgrade, though it would have been a lot cheaper if I did.PhilC wrote: Tue Aug 18, 2026 2:45 pm

The boards are from JLCPCB who TBH I'm finding a lot cheaper than PCBWay, especially if you can wait for the boards to arrive. It cost me £4.82 including shipping for 5 boards since I wasn't in a hurry and could wait for them. Sure it took about 2 weeks but that worked out for me.
And annoyingly RPi Zero 2W's are getting expensive, £29 on Amazon and although the Pi Hut has them for £14.40 it has none in stock...

Re: Stuff and Things.
@rubber_jonnie you can use Pi zero 1s with those RGB2HDMI IIRC and they are usually a bit cheaper.

On amazon the price difference is not that much on Amazon and the Pi Hut has none, will have to check around I think.PhilC wrote: Tue Aug 18, 2026 3:25 pm @rubber_jonnie you can use Pi zero 1s with those RGB2HDMI IIRC and they are usually a bit cheaper.

Re: Stuff and Things.
So thats another RGB2HDMI built, plus the CPLD on the Atom RGB2HDMI board at last:
This was really about testing the CPLDs I got from Ali Express before I soldered them onto the PCBs, and I'd had 2 from the same seller before that work fine (At least so far), but they seem to be just fine subject to further testing. They are at least recognised by the Pi as being unprogrammed at boot and are able to be programmed.
I think they'll be fine as they were in a sealed ammo belt strip.
For number 2 though I did have to make one resistor pack as I'd run out of the correct parts:
So I have some on order and will replace that when they arrive. Hopefully I can get them all built then.
