Yep they certainly are a distraction and not good for getting real chores like gardening done

Butterbrot is one of the special scenes with 'clickzoom' (which will default-on for an even smaller subset of those scenes). With the output window topped, you can left-click on an area and it will be zoomed 2x. A right-click will zoom out. There is no limit to the zoom but some scenes will definitely break down at some point

Clickzoom is banned/blocked/security-locked on the slower scenes because a mis-click might have users throwing their machine at a wall.

Yes, I can well imagine.

Even just normal stuff, such as getting Helios to run multi-cpu and the same for X has caused a lot of consternation and frustration!!!

I said to him it's probably a bad data transfer of Helios. I have a feeling lots of people are going to struggle with this, I'm not sure what the root cause of Atari data-transfer issues are - there are just so many methods people use these days, some are better than others, some have bugs/issues you don't realise until you transfer over a large Unix OS

Perhaps the safest way of transferring large data is zipped, then extracting on the Atari.

Yeah it does seem like it might be a thing. It definitely was for me.

Since I have CosmosEx I unzip on a PC or Mac and then copy over to a network share that is accessible on the MSTE.

What's odd is that I've found transferring large numbers of files and folders fails quite often when I use a colour desktop, but if I use monochrome its generally successful.

Not knowing how people are doing it means I suppose if they are batch copying they might lose a file here or there. I tend to do an 'all in one go' copy since I have access to the network, but I could if required slot my CosmosEx SD card into my Mac or PC since it is readable there as I use HDDRIVER.

I can't imagine that unzipping on the Atari would be a quick process...

I've got an internal Ultrasatan SD-card reader in my Mega STe. So it's easy for me. Download on Windows or my Kubuntu Linux laptop. Copy across. I use a 2 gig SD-card set for both TOS/DOS compatibility. On my 16mhz Mega STe it takes a bit to unzip but it's not exceedingly bad. Honestly, most of the time I do go ahead and unzip it on whatever machine I downloaded it on and then copy it across - just saves time. I'm really glad I went with the internal Ultrasatan. It's absolutely dead-handy.

OK, so I did a thing...

I was never happy having the T425 modules plugged into the ATW800/2 board. They were too tall and caught a little on top of the VME slot.

So now they are soldered on directly to the ATW800/2 board and the fit is so much better, it slides in with no contact at all and fits beautifully now.

All detected too so happy days.
