I actually find it quite easy to solder these by hand using a fine tipped iron, rather than with hot air. Even with my shaky hands. Of course you'll want to make sure the chip is good before you start :D
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

Easier than expected :D
Some flux on the Adapter - the side with the round pads
Then I fixed the adapter flush on top of the PLCC footprint and fixed it with some (more) tape
Since I made the PCBs a bit too large it was not that easy to center them exactly - but I managed…
I double checked with a lamp from the opposite side, to see, if the pads are shining through the THT holes
Then a lot of flux inside the THT holes
I then used a standard solder tip, and applied heat a bit longer to ensure that the heat (and the solder) reaches the pads on the adapter

Ah, sure - the PLCCs themselves…
Yes, pretty standard tip (not that small) - using lots of flux prevents from shorts

And Nessi can be programmed via the JTAG port
I have attached a little Raspi Zero W permanently to my Raven (power can be switched on/off, only if needed)

Hi, @LarryL, came across your build of the Pine CL-GD5434 board while researching for myself. Noticed you ended up with five of them and wondered whether you might still have a spare board available.

I'm putting together 386DX-40 DOS system in Australia and would love to use a one of the Pine boards with 2MB RAM.

Ideally I'm looking for a single fully assembled, tested card, but would also be keen a partially assembled board.

Would you be interested in selling one, and shipping it to Australia?

Cheers, Chris
