Today I finished the YM2149 with the parallel port and the sound amp circuit


I also forgot to link the parallel busy signal to the MFP, here is the fix

So, I finally completed the capture of the schematics, the projects advance into "v1 alpha" stage. No DRC ERC errors (I had to fix some typos from my symbols libraries).


As always, I welcome being corrected, if there is a typo or misunderstanding of the original schematics.

As always, the github repository is up to date, with an alpha release for people wanting to get the same pdf as the one attached to this post, without opening kicad.

edit: confused DRC and ERC...

Thanks to a donation from @russellnash, I got myself an actual motherboard (this is one of the motherboards he got from @frank.lukas) . That will help me a lot for my work on reconstructing the PCB.

Hmm... Intereting DB9 port configuration. Somehow I don't think that they're stock. :-)

Same for the cartridge port :)

To be fair it was Frank who let me know you were looking for a board, otherwise I might not have seen it. In your photo it looks truly beautiful, probably the best looking one I have ever seen.

... had all four boards to cannibalize for parts. The board in the picture was probably installed in a PC tower case I think.

I don't mind, it's in good enough shape for using as reference :)

Working on the not so fun step of assigning footprints to components. Almost done, and I will have to craft some custom footprints, like the Atari DE9 ports, the modulator, the "shifter cage" and the power common mode chock L3.

Having an actual motherboard -and a Vernier caliper- helps a lot.
