Hi I'm trying to add a 68881/68882 to my MegaSTE I have followed the instructions and it's not being seen properly. I have programmed more than one GAL using the MSTE_881.jed and they both verify and I have tried locked and unlocked. On my MegaSTE I don't have a resistor on the bottom. If I remove the link and install the GAL and either a 68881 or 68882 gembench (the most recent version from here) doesn't see either and sysinfo sees a fsp004 is this correct should they both be seeing a 68881 or 68882?

Seems most software does not detect the FPU, but that particular version of Gembench did... not sure if the latest version should still detect it? Perhaps Exxos knows.

Perhaps try dml's FPU tester?

GB6 won't see IO mapped FPU or even test it. GB4 might see it.

I'd assume dmls CPU tester won't work with io mapped FPU either.

I don't even know of any software which can see IO mapped FPU. Not like much even uses the FPU with a 030.

There is a FPU Emulator out here so you can run DML FPU Test with a I/O mapped FPU ...

I've got a little bit of code I can try I'll get C onto the machine and try it I thought sysinfo would just show it. Not that I need a FPU just I have 3 lying around doing nothing and since I have the lid off :D

DML's FPU software works on my Mega STe with a 68881, IIRC.

Got the FPU from Best Electronics, IIRC. HTH's.

1040 ST/e TOS 2.06: FPU Emu. + DML's FPU TEST + ICD AdSpeed STe 16Mhz + FPU I/O 50Mhz 68882 :D

Not sure what this FPU emulator is doing but it seems the CPU is the main speed factor in the calculations.
EDIT: Oh wow doing it in software beats the FPU by a lot :D
