Hi all,

I'm not currently doing modding work because of my commitments & study/apprenticeship, but a previous customer has contacted me who is experiencing SCSI issues.

Is there anyone else who can do some Falcon work? Otherwise, I'll see if I can arrange some time in the Holidays.

The problem has turned out to be something different now, after further inspection - the internal SCSI header made by C-lab seems to have 'burned out' and the traces have gone up in smoke... the guy will either need some patch-trace work done, or a completely new scsi connector board.

I have a theory now that C-Labs internal SCSI board just isn't well made & the traces just weren't designed to be thick enough. They're very very tiny for the voltage rails. Either that or it was just a defective PCB.

Yes... check this. You can see previously I had patched some burned traces on the board, but now a trace at the front has completely gone up in smoke.

There must have been something really wrong with a device on the SCSI bus to do that. Possibly a terminator with a short? There should be minuscule amounts of current involved.

The problem is that the internal C-Lab SCSI Adapter picks up everything on the onboard terminators and there is no Fuse !

Have one CLAB adapter that looks normal, doesn't work. Never looked into it.
A guy in Spain sold some nice internal boards some years back, can't remember his name. Replaced the MKX boards with those, work great.
But, wow, that's scary looking

I guess @stephen_usher is right concerning the short on the terminator.
