Hi all,

Recently been playing with Exxos 16mhz booster in my short-ST that has a Vofa. With the Vofa in it was crashing (random amounts of bombs at different times) I took the Vofa out (Vofa is an ET4000 display adaptor in case you don't know) and the system was stable. The machine had all the mandatory fixes, so I was wondering what I could do that I hadn't already done to help stability.

I remembered that I had 'upgraded' the RAM line-driver chips to 'F' types after reading information on Atari-forum where it was recommended for the PAK CPU upgrade boards, 'F' types are faster than the original 'LS' types. So I took out the F types, put the LS types back in and now all is stable.

Just writing this for others just in case somebody else hits this issue in the future...

I did a lot of tests on those "F" types as the "usual crowd" was saying they were better a while back. While they do have their uses, placing them in a STFM and/or MEGA ST only resulted in problems.

You can try ALS Types ...?
