How many AUS$ to the £? About 2?

Price seems a bit steep. Not quite full-on-full-fat-lol though. :-)

Interested to see what that goes for. Boxed examples are pretty rare. That would be close to 400 pounds.

I'm being offered that boxed XEGS for AUD$540, apparently eBay makes that simple for the seller if you watch something. I don't have it spare right now...

$540 AUD is over £300, so in my opinion, it's a bit overpriced, though they (XEGS) seem to be commanding high prices at the moment.

I got a copy of the original Elite for the Acorn Electron, boxed and complete for under £10 IIRC, that was a year ago. Seeing prices like that for big box games that probably aren't that rare really annoys me.

To be fair, it's the CD32 version which they didn't make in any great numbers. But you wouldn't want to buy it unless you were a collector.

Yeah, agreed it is perhaps rarer than the average version of Frontier II, but even so prices like these are pretty excessive. and you would really have to want it to pay that much for sure.

It seems big box games, especially sealed, go for stupid money, a quick look on ebay shows how bad it can get: Silly Prices

I don't see the appeal of buying something you'll never open and just display on a shelf, I'm too pragmatic to do that and would rather have libraries of games on SD card.

Each to his own I guess...

The only ones I really want these days are games like "Their FInest Hour" where the manual is probably worth the price independent of the game, or the Infocom boxes with all the little extras (peril-sensitive sunglasses for example).

Maybe the CD32 version has improved the acting in the video clips, making it priceless?
