Received your PM, will post it at lunch time.

I'd suggest that you try it with your Sony drive first and see if it boots to the desktop with a floppy in the drive.
I'm expecting it will still crash on accessing the floppy though.

All components have been working in my H4 board and failing in the H5C boards (different number of bombs on different boards but all at the same accessing the floppy during boot).

Yeah I'll do that first.

Cool. I'll probably start a new topic on it all as I go along. I'm pretty sure it can only be the problem I think it is.. But could be anything or a combination of things etc. I'll figure it out I'm sure :)

Yeah be a bodge board to fix if it is what I think. We been lacking in bodge wires lately.. So think it's about time.. :lol:

That might be fun with th SMT buffers etc. on the H5C boards...reminds me taht I still need to fit the buffer onto my H4 (but I'll wait until I have at leat on e other H5 boards working before I risk brekaing the H4 :D )

Yep. Be some track cutting and a small board to replace the inverter chip.. I'll try to make it as simple as possible...

On first power up I can confirm what @JezC was seeing..


My first observation... (spot the mistake)


Then after...


It just run though GB6 and loaded HDdriver from floppy.
