Oh I completely understand. There's a few projects I've put off because I wasn't going to pay for the CPLDs.

So the box I think I'll put one of these in is a 3000. It's got the onboard mem maxed to 16mb plus 2mb of chip. But I also have a zz9000 video/network/ram/exc. card. That ram comes in at $1000_0000. There shouldn't be any memory conflicts should there?

I've been busy lately with work and the TF4060.

I've completed the designs for the rev2 of this board and expect to demo it at Amiga 37. Dont have time to stream and its getting too expensive to power up the basement for long periods. TBH unless electricity prices come down i think I'll be reading books instead of doing retro stuff.

Oh that is good news. I should be picking up a plain Jane 4000 on Saturday, so I have now a keaner interest in the TF4060.

It boots and I am told is stable, but battery funk to clean and caps to replace.

Being a 4000 noob, is there any point/benefit of having Fastram on the 4000 motherboard, due to the TF having shed loads of RAM?

A man of your talents I would have thought you'd have built your own PV solar array and battery bank out of old calculators and some car batteries and be ready to go "off grid" :)

I was actually half seriously thinking of advertising 'free electricity' as one of the features at the computer show to get extra attendance figures! :lol:

Multiple issues here. One of which is the building is about 70-80ft high. So getting on the roof to install anything is scary stuff.

Also just buying solar is impossible right now. And we don't get much sunlight here in Glasgow.

What does a 'retro' crypto rig comprise then? A Pentium 2 with a Voodoo 6000 card? :)

ZX81 with a wobbly RAM pack probably.
