OK, so the H5 not booting/blank screen was because, doh, I'm using TOS 2.06 and Trudie to decode it so, when I removed Trudie, it stopped working. So that part is good now. :-)

But, the floppy/Gotek still does not work. I did swap the WD1772, but still does not work. Added the resistors to the address lines; still does not work. Removing the resistors also does not work (that's a little unsettling for me, because that means installing them changed/burned something). The exact message I get is:

Data on the disk in drive
A: may be damaged.

The other thing that I noticed (but I'm not sure it was not happening before, when the floppy did work) is that the activity light on the keyboard, and the green led (also activity) in the Gotek, keeps rapidly blinking.

Again, still looking, but any tips are welcome.

I don't know if gotec needs 720k or 1.44 mode ?

The Gotek drive was working (before I installed the resistors in the data lines) in 720k mode.

Did you change the SMT resistor packs then ? Might be a short or no pullup on a pin ?

This is normal. In fact it’s a good way of determining if interrupts have been disabled or the machine has crashed as the floppy access light stops flickering.

No, I just installed the the resistors using the board designed by @kodak80 (https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... 815#p57350 ).

I did tested all the pins, and all have the right resistance (4.7k ohms).

How do I test the total resistance of the pull ups, when the new resistors (the board described above) is connected?

So, I disconnected all the extra stuff I have (Trudie, pull-ups resistors board, X2; I did not remove the MIDI amp board) from the H5 board, reverted it to boot in TOS 1.04 and the floppy works. Phew!

Then, I wanted to try TOS 2.06, so I connected Trudie (because that's what I'm using to decode it) and the computer boots but bam! the floppy does not work.

My next test was to boot TOS 1.04 but with Trudie connected. In that case, the floppy works.

So, I'm confused: why the floppy wouldn't work just for TOS 2.06?

Have you tried moving Trudie to a different 68k socket ?

No, but I just tried it, and it does not make a difference; the floppy/Gotek still does not work. Bizarre, ah?

Any other ideas?
