Well, I had a good cleanup of the edge connectors:

Very good result and I'll put a film of contact cleaner over them to help protect them.

Next I need to figure out how to get an odd film off the bottom of the PCB where all the silt was. It doesn't seem to be harmful, but it is aesthetically unpleasing...

Difficult to tell exactly what it is but IPA doesn't shift it.

Need to get the modulator sorted too.

So back to picking up composite from the modulator input with croc clips :)

Upgrade no 1 done:


New ROM with EXOS 2.4 installed, so including BASIC:


Just need that keyboard membrane to turn up now.

@rubber_jonnie why not pop another heatsink on top of that copper sheet whilst you've hit the case open?

And you'll need to get EXP1 & 2 ready for the ram expansion :D

Funnily enough I was thinking about both those things earlier today, need to find my small heatsinks, and I'll pop one on the other custom IC while I'm there.

@rubber_jonnie the second heatsink would be in the way of the ram upgrade
