The summary version is that with a special firmware it will boot to the desktop and you can use the CD drive. But it will not boot to the CD. That will need someone to figure out whats up with the drvers to get CD booting working.

I think that I can live with that. CD-boot is nice, but with accelerator and working CD-drive make other options more viable, thanks.
By the way, I made a custom kickstart for Amiga 1200 with possibility to boot from CD.

Just install socket on the back of the motherboard and install pin stripes on top of the TF536, so You can insert it from underside? 🤔😆

How about soldering CPU directly to TF and using 90 decree connetor for a IDE? I have currently MKL's IDE board top of CPU connector and I'm prety sure that TF can be thinner than that?
So I think that vertical dimension wount't be a problem?
I ques biggest problem is those big capasitors wich are from CPU connector towards rear? But there is a plenty of room from CPU to left. There is even few screw holes wich could be used with 3d printed support wich would make it sit steady.
I've never seen right angled 44 pin IDE but i guess it must be possible.

have some angled 44 pin sockets here, the only problem is pin1- if i solder that socket correctly - it is turned on board not on the outer side,
So need to use angled pin stripes..
@8 Bit Dreams could you test this? How would it fit? If it fits I would be interested one. I have't 3D printer currently, so printing support is not possible for me.
