Looking for more takers - ideally need STFm or MST Users - So far it's been mainly STe Users adopting this.

Will try it in my H4 first ...bits have finally arrived.

Bit low on motivation today but hopefully over the weekend...first to test it all works in an Amiga A500, then move it into the Atari from there.
Baby steps...

I would be interested in trying this out - from my own project perspective - to see if the bus contention/data transfer speed between the ET4K ISA<>ST bus is any faster than the real thing. I have a couple of MST machines; at least one which is firing on all cylinders, so should make a good donor machine.

I have assembly demo code 'ready rolled' to test, as soon as I can get the unit working and/or I can test any code/benchmarks as necessary. :)

Ive got a couple of RPi 3B+ v1.2s and some 2b v1.1s...Im guessing the latter wont quite make the grade? Are the 3B+ 'good enough'?

IIRC, the Atari implementation needed a particular version of (one of the 2 types of?) PiStorm board. Could someone advise which one I need?

Also, IIRC the setup can be quite daunting. I was looking to follow @JezC s lead, but if there is a good comprehensive guide somewhere, I will give it a good go myself. :)

Lastly, bear in mind I am neck deep with other projects, (just do a forum search for 'mucking around' ) so may not be able to produce feedback as fast as desired. ;)

I believe that the type of latch or flip-flop Pistorm doesn't matter anymore.

See my signature for links to the repository and the discord channel - Development has been done on a Pi4. Pi3A+ only has 512MB RAM so some work is needed to see if it is possible at all, same for the pi2zw. Pi3B has 1GB so should be ok but as yet it hasn't been tried - something for you perhaps? It doesn't matter what latch type anymore, but you may have to try a few firmwares to get a working one.
The ET4K emulation is much faster than the "real thing" and for Mint we have FVDI which is very fast.
So come aboard and see where you get

Ok thanks for the tips @peters and @dad664npc

Will take me a couple of weeks as I have to get the PiStorm board and have a go at the setup (did I mention Im going on holiday for a week this Saturday too? )

Anyway, will report back when I start making progress with this. (Hopefully plain sailing!)

Thanks for all the hard work. It looks amazing. Opens up a whole new world of high-end Atari stuff I've never touched.

I think the 68000 is soldered in place on both my STfm and MegaST so I don't think I'll be joining you any time soon.

If there was a PiStorm interface board that allowed you to retain the original 68000 (for backwards compatibility) that would be interesting.

I don't think you can go back to 8MHz "demo compatibility" with any PiStorm as they are not cycle accurate.

Megabus 68000 DIP adapter perhaps?

I view it like this:- there never was a full 100% compatible Atari with upgraded CPU; not the MegaSTe, not the TT, not the F030. This is probably on par to run a similar amount - more or less - of ST software as those Atari machines, surely? I would say its progressing well anyway as its own 'hybrid' Atari type machine. :D

Im coding 6502 assembly for a similarly 'experimental' MCL-64 CPU... Its all good fun trying different things, changing the variables and breaking the limits I would say. :)

Very cool. Well done! :D

My Mega would be ideal for this, but I've not yet got around to socketing the 68k and my STFM is presently full of other dev boards.

One day I'll get back it! Maybe. :P

With this level of performance it would be possible to run an ST emulator for stuff that requires even more accuracy.
