Gah! No its not! :lol: :roll: I want my extra 10 pixels!!

So almost a year in owning this printer :) It's not let me down once yet :thumbup: Everything pretty much works as it should!

My only "issues" are what I said before. The front door is fine, but its ridged look, likely done simply for strength, makes it hard to see the print because the door "warps" the view.

The spool mounting on the back isn't idea for me. Also I seem to end up with the filament breaking as it exits the spool holder for some odd reason. I can't really relocate it anyway as there simply isn't any room anywhere around the printer to relocate the spool too.

The "lid" on the printer I still think is overkill. It could be made a lot shallower.

Currently printing some final ST2VGA test cases out. Hopefully cased ST2VGA adapter will be in the store soon :)

So I had to rope my big mouth and jinx it didn't I ! :pullhair:

I notice there was some very tiny gaps in the first layer of my prints. So I reduced the first layer width from 0.4mm to 0.35mm and it solved it.. BUT, now the print isn't sticking to the bed :roll:

I played around with the Z offset and seem to make any difference but it's almost like the filament is slipping and causing a erratic feed at times. Changing the temperatures all speed does not seem to have any effect.

So during a test last night, stop printing totally and I had to dismantle the head assembly to figure out why :roll:


So the filament has got stuck somewhere. I took the nozzle off and that was fine so it was actually stuck in the copper tube and it refused to budge!


So I clamped it up and gave it a gentle warming with the blowtorch...


And voilà! It is now free !

If only things were that simple !! :lol: :roll:


Turns out when I had clamped what I thought was a solid metal piece actually add 3 holes for the tiniest screws you have ever seen!! Even more annoying is that they seem to have a tiny washer halfway down the thread which made it incredibly difficult to get it to fit through the holes which I had now squashed the grips :roll:

So with some careful metal bending, I did manage to get the whole thing back together again in the end..

So now I am back to the original problem :lol: :roll:

It is rather puzzling because the head cannot pull the filament through an overhead is clogged up again :pullhair: but removing the filament from the rear does not seem to be trapped at all.. The feed through pipes to the head are free.. But both together and it's physically impossible to pull through ?!

Rather than taking the template apart again I am just stopping the fan tape and ramping the head temperature to 300c. and keep hitting the manual feed until it starts flowing again. Did that earlier and it printed my squares out perfectly fine and just started the second batch now it's "stuck" again.. I don't get it...

Same problem 4 times now :roll: I think I'm printing to hot and to slow on the first later and after a few moments the head just gunks up. I slowed it down because I was having a bit of trouble with the first layer sticking to the bed.

Anyway, tried 10c lower on the head and made no odds. Now printing the first layer at double speed... See if it completes this time..
