Which adapters? The Keirf ones? They're for the 27C400/800s.. i have that one but its not the right adaptor for these roms.

So went to finish this installation tonight and I appear to be a component short in the kit. Entirely possible that I sneezed it into one of the machines here but i've hunted high and low for an hour and no sign of it.. :(

CDTV is now in a sad state of dismantlement... hope i can get it back together soon or it'll end up in the loft forever.

I put the CDTV back together but it doesn’t boot. A quick nosey on the LA tells me 0 is getting returned when accessing address 4. Address bus doesn’t appear to be shorted. Sigh.

And it’s not the ROM either. Tried 3.

Looks like the lower data bus latches are fried... grrr.

From what i can tell U46 died. Maybe an ESD death. This a common thing?

Have a good chap who has CDTV spares, will try to find U46 for You

Already ordered. Just wondering what will break next. All I was trying to do was replace the power switch and it’s become a rabbit hole

U46 removed

Ok chip replaced and same behaviour. Upper half of data bus reads at location 0. Lower half does not. Always zero... which is mental when you consider the latches and OEs are connected.

Anyways.... I’m fed up with the CDTV. It’s going in the loft. Might sell it for parts. :(
