Well I heard back from Moulsoe PH:

So for a decent time (i.e. 2pm till late on a weekend) thats around £280.

As for the hall size: (maybe we give each exhibitor a room each! )

Not sure if thats much larger than the last one TBH and they dont have any PA/projector/screen or stage.
(At this point I dont think I will even ask about table availability).

I think the only real plus is the proximity to the M1. Other than that, Im going back to the drawing board, so to speak.

Thanks @mrbombermillzy , it’s about the same internal space as the last one.

So do you guys want it the same sort of area or elsewhere?

Ok, found this place, St.James Community Centre, close to central Northampton, but not far from the M1 junction:

Its £34/h on weekends, so a bit steeper than before, but it has 150 capacity and is much bigger than the previous venue.

So e.g. From 2-10pm Sat/Sun hire costs will be £272. We can extend a bit more (earlier in the day) if needed. Any thoughts?

There is also a kitchen, projector screen, 30 space car park (with additional parking close by - ~1 minute walk) and (for an extra £10) projector for hire. (I will also ask about internet @stephen_usher ).

However, there is no elevated area/stage. (Is this a problem @Icky? )

@PhilC, Icky (and others, of course) what do you think?

@mrbombermillzy that looks much bigger than Weston favell.

And larger venue is usually higher costs. Waiting to see what the others think.

Ive looked at a fair few halls now. Like most things, its all a compromise of one sort or another. i.e. Size, parking, location, cost.

This one seems to be as close to ideal as I have found so far. If we can make do without a stage, then I think this could be the one.

Remember, If they dont have one, or its too expensive to hire, I can bring a fairly large projector screen, projector and lets not forget that lovely PA system from last time. Suitably vintage, of course! :)

On their website they mention WIFI too, so thats possibly another tick off the list (if its actually available).

Thanks @mrbombermillzy , it should be reasonably easy to get to as well. The only thing to watch out for would be if the football or rugby clubs had a match too the day we hire it.

Do we really need a stage at all?

The venue is a nice space and looks good for exhibitions.

For me that's even closer than Weston Favell.

Lot's more close by for retail of various kinds if needed, compared with Weston Favell.

Just a bit of feedback from the missus. She has said it’s not in a great part of town. It’s known for its troubles, drug taking, street violence etc. it’s a poorer part of Northampton.
