@DoG I like smt stuff until it gets smaller than 0805. It takes so long to bend resistor legs etc with TH.

Just going to build up my Eiffel adaptor board today and will have 4 spare board if anyone in the UK would like one. I've also got some CH559 chips too if needed.

Well that's the board built.
Could someone please tell me what I will need to program the CH559. Thanks very much.

BTW, I'm presuming that PO5&6 are the solder points for the bodge wires to the Raven motherboard?

Instructions for programming can be found here:

You will need a usb cable to connect your PC to USB0 on the ckbd for programming it.
USBA:male to USBA:male can be a bit hard to find so you might need to get inventive :)
I went with a USBA:male to USBC:male cable + USBC:female to USBA:male adapter

Bodges (if you are interested in anything they bring) can all be done fairly easy on the back side of the Raven board:

I took mine out of the case yesterday and did those and can confirm the right mouse button works for legacy mice in the Joy0 port.
But I haven't yet done the code for reading CPU temperature, powerbutton state, or for shutting down the computer from software.


(PO5&6 are unused. They're footprints for pulldown resistors that could perhaps in the future act as some kind of hardwired config for the firmware)

Phil, slightly off topic, but as you mentioned the eiffel...

did you ever get round to making up one of those C64 to PS/2 keyboard (C= key adapter?) boards?

I did for myself but could make a second if you want one?

Or actually thinking about it, I have a C128 keyboard I am adapting for my C128D so won't need my adapter soon.

Ok fair enough. I have all the bits to make one, just never did with everything that happened last year.

Got the Eiffel replacement board programmed just now. It's the same process as @arkadiusz.makarenko used with his MSX board, so I had everything to hand and already installed.

Works fine with the existing PS/2 stuff and I'm now off to see where I left my USB keyboards and mice.
