That seller made the mistake of setting his auction for delivery only in France. If he'd offered it for at least anywhere in EU, he would have gotten a lot more money I think.

Unfortunately, even the starting price (around 300) is out of my league.
Oh no. That's very sad. :awwww:
David, you have skills to trade; there's always someone who can trade either skills or cash around here. It's sort of what happens in the background around here all the time. That's why its such a great community. Everyone helps out.
If it will help finances, I'm sure there's quite a few people who need items repaired or built and are happy to pay with cash.
Maybe it's not something you want to do, but the option is there if you need it.
Hell, I would have lent you the money to get this at 300 euro. :(
Perhaps we need a sticky thread (like some of the Amiga forums have) with a list of people prepared to do work, along with what types of upgrades/repair work/etc they are willing to undertake and perhaps some rough pricing?
Does that sound like a useful thing to have on this forum? (
@exxos )

Though I think nobody does such things anymore so likely is outdated.

:goodpost:
I must confess, I completely forgot about this.
Well there's a couple of posts right at the end that might still be active.
The bulk of the thread though was people toning down their workload, losing their eyesight or having kids!

I might qualify for all three of those at the same time (though the "kids" are now teenagers, so I'm actually starting to get some additional 'free' time after my wife is in bed asleep & they are both plugged into the 'net)

thanks for the thoughts @mrbombermillzy
Just to avoid misunderstanding, I was talking about money I would/could allocate to hobby. I have enough for paying the house and family holidays.
(beside money, there is also space problem, we don't have enough room to have a "man cave" for me and a "woman cave" for her)
Anyway, though I regret having let go the Falcon I had, I feel no spite. I have lots of projects and some of them are even doable and affordable :D

Maybe its not something you want to do...
It looks like you are someone who actually lives within their (spacial/financial) means. I can totally respect that.
(This is coming from someone who cant get the family bikes out of the brick outhouse/shed due to there being a broken 37" CRT monitor and a motorbike engine/frame in the way).
In this respect at least, you are a better man than me.

Eek! Looks like nasty sewerage rather than just water. You'd need a different anti-virus product than the usual ST one.
