Assuming the information is available, it seems it is easy to miss (or I am dumber than I previously assumed!), so if you could very briefly outline what is included, what isn't included (and required), the basic features and what is already assembled (the SMD components?) etc then at least others who could not find this information could get it from here when they search.... assuming there are others and I am not the only one having this issue. ;)

Erm..... so PCB, chip sockets and passive components?

A full compliment of ICs are required, and ports etc? No chance this is all listed somewhere? I mean, a list of the components needed to complete the build at least? Or are there any ST models recommended as parts donors that would have everything required?

As I said before, it looks like a nice project, just a little ambiguous (well, to green horns like myself anyway).

That isn't strictly true, because the shop states: "Included is reset switch, oscillators, MFP" and provides a photo of what's on the board that you will receive.

You'll also need everything that an STF or STFM provides thus:

MMU
GLUE
BLITTER (If you have a donor with this IC)
CPU - either buy a PLCC CPU or use a DIP item from the donor
SHIFTER
1772 or AJAX
DMA
YM-2149
A pair of 6850's.
And all of the physical parts like ports and the cartridge shield. Some of these can only be had from a donor machine.

You shouldn't need anything else except perhaps headers for things like the keyboard connector etc.

All the custom chip is needed. Processor (68000 either DIP or PLCC), DMA, SHIFTER, GLUE, MMU, WD1772, 2 pcs of ACIA (MC68B50), YM2149 sound chip, 4Mb 72pin SIMM or Falcon ram card. Also ports (video (15pin VGA or 13pin DIN), serial, parallell, 2x5pin DIN (MIDI), cartridge, ACSI, Floppy), keyboard, floppy or gotek drive with 32pin ribbon cable, 64-pin sockets if you want to use expansion PCB. Also PSU and floppy power lead/wires.

Easiest is to purches all these one by one but expensive. Cheaper is to get an working Atari or motherboard and desolder everything you need.

Apperently reset switch, oscillators, MFP are included but it's out of stock.

:) Well, yeah, you got me there - technically it does mention a few components included and does show a picture of the PCB with some components and sockets.... not what I would call a clear description of everything included and what you require to end up with a usable board - but maybe that's just my lack of detective skills? ;)

HOWEVER, your post does make it very clear what is and isn't required - thank you.

So with a complete set of chips and ports from a donor ST (and the optional Blitter) and a 72 pin SIMM you should have everything needed to build a complete board? Also, to be clear, the H5 does not come with the keyboard header so this needs to sourced as well (or carefully removed from the donor motherboard)?

Perfect! Thank you very much - all crystal clear now. Chris has been kind enough to answer a few questions via PM and has informed me the boards will be back in stock in the next few days.

I've edited this as I incorrectly stated there weren't any headers when there are, thats what is hiding under the pink foam.

Be aware that when recoving parts from the donor, the 6850's can be troublesome to remove as they connect to a decent ground plane IIRC, so that final leg might prove difficult to remove.

As a side note, a lot of parts can be obtained from the store also. A donor board helps if you have a faulty one lay around you can get parts from already. A lot of sockets are in the store , they can be a pain to remove from donor machines and probably not worth reusing old connectors anyway.
