I've been using a standard 4.5v Amiga 500 one with appropriate DIN connector on the beta card for quite a while and that is fine.
My CD32 did not come with a PSU. Originally I modified a Lacie PSU 2A on the 5v line I think, and that would not work.

I use a stock CD32 PSU personally. But thats just because i'm expecting you all to do that too.

Many many thanks for taking the time to develop the board and open it up to the public in beta.

The CD32 and SX1 (With PC-Task 4.4 / CrossDos ) got me through my computer science degree in the early 90's. I am very fond of the CD32 for this reason. I've even wrote a computer aided learning multimedia package for it as my final year submission. Maybe one day I'll release it.
There was a copy in the university library once upon a time.

To get back on topic, with regards to the R3 board I have a few questions.

1. Is the ESP header working ? Will soldering in a header void any kind of support ?

2. How can you tell which firmware is flashed in it ?

3. Booting from CD seems very hit and miss here and I'm currently trying to trouble shoot. Symptoms present as lots of drive accesses and spinning CD32 logo but no loading. Could this be firmware related or PSU related ?

So far I found that disks that boot when my FMV cart or TF330 are in don't when the TF360r3 is in and its hit or miss if disk icon appear on workbench.
I've so far tried an R3 with Stock C= 40.60 Firmware and an R4 with Indivision Mk3 AGA and an internal beta CD32 V47 kickstart, its the same on both.
Guardian is mentioned. However, guardian is one of the titles that will not boot here but does with my FMV cart is in, in for example.

R4-68LC060 as reported by WhichAmiga

Sysinfo report 39.26 Mips which is truly amazing to see in a CD32. If only C= could have had the foresight to release it with something more than an 68020 in it, but I guess budgets at that time was the reason.

The ESP header works. I use it daily. Works exactly like 330.

cpuspeed tells you which firmware you have.

There is a firmware update coming for the CD drive.

I came across this video on youtube from one of the guys from Amiwest group here in the USA, he did an interview with Jens from Individual computers.

If you go to 40:46 time frame on the video, the Amiwest guy brings up the ESP Wifi module you use on your TF boards, which work great on all my TF boards :), to Jens and he acts like he doesn't know what it is and asks if you have working drivers, cmon he knows you have working drivers :)

Yes i've seen. I've met Jens. He's actually OK in person but he doesnt pay attention to what other people are doing. He's also unaware that both the Warp 1260 and TF1260 can get 7Mb/s out of the motherboard.

I suspect he doesnt realize that there isnt much of a 12xx market left. I estimate over 1000 TF1260s are out there now.

EDIT: +If you add in the TS1230s and TF1230s (i've no actual numbers on these as nobody reports back to me what they sell.) then the A1200 market is completely flooded with cards.

IMHO, this is something that only you could have done.
And I think this is a testament to your and the card builders perseverence.
