Thank god 74LS ICs are still easily available or I'd be royally screwed!!
Yeah FPGA we need for the MMU / GLUE codes for the H5. Likely add 2 years onto the project now at least.

I did bulk buy some TTL chips for my store. Just in case they vanishes. Ironically I still have draws full of the original 74xx series from like 20 years ago

That's got to be damn annoying.

Correct. Like 7400, 7406 etc etc Lots of stuff left over from when I tried to setup a parts company a longggg time ago. Ebay ruined that just as it started to pick up

Wow that is old stuff, perhaps you could stock it in your store? Sometimes they do come up.

Possibly yeah. Problem is time involved to do it all. I may only have a couple of some chips for example. I assume they all tarnished by now as well. No idea what they would sell for now, or what I paid for them. So again, not worth the time :(

But alas if anyone gets stuck for a 74XX chip, I can look through the draws to see if I got some. Probably cost more to post than things are worth these days.

It is but I do have some FPGA dev board plans to try and keep us going for our development. I also have been scavenging FPGAs off of old dev boards to use. That said the shortage is a pain but allows me to work more on the firmware than the hardware. Unfortunately that means these board stay as dev and we can’t produce them due to no chips.

Which is definitely rubbish 😐

Quick survey of the chips I normally wait for at Farnell:-

Smalliermouse's AT90USB1287 -- Expecting stock in November! That's getting close.

DFB1's XC95288XL-10-144 -- Computer says no. At least a year and stupid money.

DSTB1's XC95144XL-10-100 -- As above.

Virtually all my gear's SN74CB3T3245 -- One year wait, although alternative in different form factor available.

So pretty much everything's still shiiiiiiiiite. :P

Perhaps a sign of loosening: Xbox series X in stock in Switzerland!
So finally an enormous company can get parts.

ETA for normal people: Another 4 years
