Relics of
the Past
Hello once again
from the world of Atari via the USA. Last month
my business took me to Finland for one week,
Germany for two, and then on to Malaysia for
two more weeks. I had hoped to have down time
to try and see the local Atari scene in each
area. The few people I asked had no idea that
Atari ever made a computer.
Upon my return
to Austin Texas I found out a computer museum
had opened in the back of the Goodwill Computer
Works center.
Knowing that
these guys have every type of old computer,
to include the various Ataris I rushed
down with my camera.

This describes
this large room filled with all types of computer
systems from the past. The early Heath kits
and Apple I from Bell and Howell. Several models
of the Atari 8-bits, as well as the 16/32 and
game systems.

Here's an Atari
400 8-bit system. I didn't see an 800 system
or the 1200 on the shelves as I walked
the hallways looking at every model.

Of course every
model of game system from the early Pong through
the Jaguar were on display.

They did have
a good balance of several brands spanning from
the 1970s into the 1990s.

Notice the black
Next computer sitting in the foreground.
If you love old computers this is one place
you want to visit if you make it to Austin.
Look at the various pictures and see how many
you can name.

Until next month,
be safe and take the time to play a game every
now and then.
