Welcome to the January 2005 issue of MyAtari. Firstly, allow me to wish you
a very Happy New Year. I hope that you enjoyed the recent festive period.
After an enjoyble Christmas and exhasting New Year celebrations I have
finally managed to sit down and write this foreword. My head is slightly
banging as a result of recent celebrations (all the non-alcoholic juice -
honestly).
This month I would like to call upon readers to email in
recommendations for our forthcoming annual MyAtari Awards. We wish to know
what categories should be in the awards this year, email your
recommendations (not your nominations - that's next month) to 2005awards@myatari.net.
Until
next month,
Best
wishes

Matthew Bacon,

What's
new? MyAtari launched in 2000, so 2005
is the sixth year we're spanning, sounds
like a long time, but doesn't feel that way!
This issue, I'm pleased to announce the start
of a new series by Roger Burrows of Anodyne
Software, about programming on your ST/TT/Falcon.
Roger's a good supporter of the Atari scene
with his CD and DVD related products, now's
your chance to get really stuck in to programming
with his help! The series will be very much
oriented towards what you, the readers want to
see and the problems you want to solve, so get
those thinking hats on and get involved and
most importantly, have fun! I know there are
plenty of you out there with great ideas for
new software but don't know where to start,
well, now you have a guiding hand!
We've
also got an article about the Atari font, carrying
on from my article two years ago about the Atari
Fuji symbol. If you want to create some authentic
Atari styling then this is a recommended read.
Lastly,
thanks to all those who made the trek to our
Christmas party in London, it was a pleasant get-together
despite heavy rain later on!
