Totally ridiculous as I only wanted a few regulator samples !

I thinking of opening a new thread just for companies which pi$$ me off in future, as the list is getting rather long. Maybe even open up a new forum to "name and shame" these companies. Totally sick to death of being treated like scum !

So definitely a company I will not buy parts from in the future, I will go elsewhere. Which is a shame because they do make some cool stuff. They are on my blacklist now !

I get stuff like that all the time.

For security, companies (especially those with online ordering) seem to have started disabling accounts that have been inactive for a relatively short space of time. This goes double for companies that have introduced 2-step verification, changed their password complexity requirements and/or added pass key.

I think its a good practice, it means that hackers have a very small window whereby they can use stolen accounts before they are deactivated.

Most companies have re-activated my account with a simple request. Or allowed me to re-register the same email address (previous purchase history/username lost)

Could it be that your account simply expired? I've had similar before, in fact Crucial actually deleted my account and all my orders during a system upgrade. I gave them a lot of hassle and got some decent compensation from them.

I only signed up last week though.

Agree with disabling old accounts, normally after like 2 years. That's annoying, but yeah understandable. But to outright ban a new customer... I mean yeah people abuse the samples, I think it was Mircochip stopped shipping samples to the UK as people abused it so much.. I made one small sample request.. banned.. Again the little guy gets screwed over by large companies !

Some companies have started to not allow accounts that use an email address that appears in lists of dark web leaks.

I cannot use my original email address on some sites I have to use an alias (same email address).

But this is typically during signup.

P.S. If you want a sample I can use my Toshiba/Kioxia email to order you some.
