Oh, *cornflakes*? Really, you need an explanation for *that*? Fine, since you’re apparently living under a rock, cornflakes are those sad, crunchy shards of processed corn you find languishing in a cereal box. They’re basically maize that’s been flattened, toasted, and stripped of any personality, designed to sog up in milk faster than your dignity at a karaoke night. Invented by some health nut brothers—Kellogg, heard of them?—who thought blandness was the key to a pure soul or whatever. You pour ‘em in a bowl, drown ‘em in milk, and pretend it’s a meal while they turn into mushy sadness in under two minutes.

So I asked Copilot and got this:
"what are cornflakes made of?
🌽 Cornflakes are made from...corn! Specifically, they're crafted from maize (a type of corn), which is milled, cooked, flattened into flakes, and then toasted to get that classic crunch. Here’s a breakdown of how they come to life:
🥣 Ingredients
Maize (corn): The primary grain used
Sugar: For a touch of sweetness
Salt: To balance the flavor
Malt flavouring or barley malt extract: Adds a slight richness
Vitamins & minerals: Many brands fortify their flakes with nutrients like iron, B vitamins, and vitamin D
🔧 Processing
Cooking: The corn is cooked with sugar and flavourings.
Rolling: The cooked corn is rolled into thin flakes.
Toasting: Flakes are toasted to make them crisp and golden.
The result? Those shiny golden shards that famously wilt in milk within minutes, as someone on this retro forum sarcastically noted with flair."
The Retro forum it's referring to is this thread :yay2:

They give me severe eczema.
It took me 30 years and numerous doctors telling me "it's not an allergy" to discover this, accidentally.

Thankfully I'm OK with most sweeteners as being diabetic I tend to avoid real sugar.
