Here's what I've found in the living room today:
Hmm, what could it be ?

Let's open the box:

No way, is it...

Yay, a nice and clean Tandy 1000EX !

Now I have to explain to the wife how this lovely machine reached me...
More to come later.

Oooh nice, IIRC they have a good sound subsystem.
Oh, and I think you should hide it very quickly :)

Not really much time these last days to do something, but I managed to squeeze some precious minutes to take care of my newcomer.
The Tandy was first cleaned, but since it was in a pristine condition, there was no much work here.

The most annoying was cleaning the gooey residue left after the rubber feet went missing.

I will surely clean the keyboard a bit more, but I'm not in a hurry now.
I removed the RAM and DMA expansion and filled the empty sockets with DRAM chips, so now I have an unbelievable amount of 640
KB (Thanks
@Steve !) RAM. :lol:

Next steps are:
- Replace the missing rubber feet
- Replace the Intel 8088 with a NEC V20
- Change the 360 KB 5,25" FDD for a 720 KB 3,5" one
- Fit a VGA board
- Add an XT CF-IDE
- Install an RTC
and check if this lovely mouse works:

Hopefully, I should have some time during my 2 weeks break starting at the end of the month.
Some parts are already waiting for install, so fingers crossed for the rest of them.

Stay tuned.

Very nice, looks to be in great condition.
What are the leads hanging out of the back? Just GND connections?

It really is in great condition, and I didn't expect that.
The leads are GND connections for external drive and printer.

When you said 640MB RAM I did a double-take lol :)

I didn't realize the goof...
I'm so used to modern stuff that saying 640 KB seems so unnatural.

I'm so used to only having 64KB of RAM I didn't notice :)
