Seeing as I've again (after losing the settings) got a pixel perfect display of my TT via the OSSC I thought I'd document it here.

So, I'll just post the screenshots of the on-screen settings:

Looks pretty complicated to set up @stephen_usher. I was thinking of getting an OSSC. Is it worth it?

Very definitely.

It's annoying that there's no auto-set-up and you can't export the settings so they get wiped if you update the firmware. However, it's far more capable than the RGB2HDMI and easier to get working. For most systems the standard settings are really close to the optimum anyway. It's usually just the advanced timings you need to tweak.

For the Mac IIci it took a bit of tuning in to get the whole display but thankfully you can switch to sync-on-green as that's what the Mac II uses.

The TT's "VGA" is so non-standard though that it takes a lot of work to get the settings right and they ware very far from the defaults in practically every way.

Just to add to what @stephen_usher said, OSSC is definitely worth it.

I've had a lot of success with it and my 8 bit machines without many changes to the setup.

With the OSSC and a Retrotink 2x mini I've got all my machines covered for HDMI and a clear picture.

Be aware, mine had a cheap PSU though, and it was introducing interference. As soon as I changed it it was totally clear.

Not to slander the OSSC or anything but with the Medusa it's a matter of three settings... basically one, just set the pixel clock to 1024, double pixels/lines and done. My TT has never produced a better picture.

Wasn't some people having problems with the Medusa ? Half recall reading somewhere a few people couldn't get it to work on some machines. Might not have been Atari, really can't remember now.

TBH I have not needed to change many settings on my OSSC (Bought long before Medusa was available), and it works with most everything I throw at it.

However nice though Medusa looks (And I have been looking), it is quite a bit more expensive than OSSC, so that might be a reason for not buying.

I have no doubt the Medusa is a great product as I have bought a lot of other stuff from Lotharek and love it all.
