Atari Stf keyboard to mega st/ste

So I know I've seen mention of it before but has anyone had any luck getting this to work?
I attempted it yesterday but don't seem to be getting any communication between the two of them.

hmm I'll try that.
It looks different from other diagrams I've seen.
