Problems registering with Darkforce BBS

I'm trying to register at Darkforce using Taz (Atari) via RS232 to Linux console (ANSI terminal) and Telnet.

All seems to go well until I'm prompted to enter my birthday. Here, I seemingly get caught in a validation loop. I did initially get caught out by the US date format :D but even when I enter it MM/DD/YYYY (I enter slashes too) it just spins and says something along the lines of 'Are you sure this is your real birthday?'.

I'm a complete noob when it comes to BBS software. Any ideas what could be wrong? Terminal/Taz settings perhaps?

First, thanks for calling. :)

Normally, you would just answer "yes" when it asks "Are you sure this is your real birthday" and it continues on in the
process. If you answer "no", it will give you another opportunity to enter the data in correctly.

Let me know if you're still having problems with this... Thanks!

Yes, I get that question but it's prefilled 'No' then prompts for the date again. Could be my terminal emulation. My route to the BBS via Atari, Linux and Telnet is a but convoluted to say the least :D
