CDTV accelerators?

Hello,

there is at least two recent CDTV specific accelerators, 30T by Archi-Tech and Moosehead-TK by Matze.

Wondering why Matze made Moosehead that shape? 30T fits just nice under the hood and it could be even bigger. Current size is 8,5cm x12,5cm.

Warp CDTV seems to be dead, or at least there is no news about it and they don't answer questions about it.

Wondering if 68060 accelerator would be possible in similar format than 30T? There are several centimeters more space towards diagnostic slot. CF adapter fits in between PSU and lid.

There is little point in a 68060 accelerator for CDTV. So few owners. Many of which have fitted TF536 and are happy with the speed. The 16-bit chipRAM access. Limited space. The rarity of v6 060s

The TF536 works in the CDTV with updated ROMs. go0se built an adaptor for it. Thats as far as i'm going with the CDTV.

IMHO 060 on a OCS/ECS machine is a waste of time.

EDIT: Yes my chats with the Warp team indicate they arent going to produce the CDTV card. I think there are enough good options for the CDTV now.

According to Discord/CS-Lab Warp#warp-cdtv, it has been cancelled. They couldn't get it to work stably enough. They were planning to use a flat cable to relocate the actual turbo to under the CDTV's motherboard or in place of the PSU. Matze tried to use a flat cable for his Diag to Zorro adapter, but it wasn't steady enough, and he ended up choosing a different method.

I dont think the Warp CDTV was ever a really serious thing. IMHO anything above 030 class on ECS non big box Amiga's isnt worth it.

That is just a matter of opinion, which everyone, of course, has the right to. There are multiple ways to get Zorro slots for the Amiga 500 and soon for the CDTV. Generally, this is a hobby, and people do pointless things for it.

I have these waiting for Amiga 500 / CDTV

I think it's a fact? With a 16-bit ChipRAM bus the 060 spends most of it's extra performance waiting

It is a fact that 16-bit RAM causes slowdown. But the question was, is it worth it? That is a matter of opinion. As I mentioned, there is the possibility to add a Zorro slot to the A500/CDTV. However, ultimately, everyone does as they like, and for some people, it matters more than for others.

Well yes. As my post stated IMHO.

The root of the issue is that there isnt enough ECS class software around to justify it and a huge number of CDTV titles already crap out with an 030.

On top of that the ECS chipset is really slow. Thats where i'm coming from when i say its not worth it. There is very little software that can take advantage of the 060/040 on these machines. The exception is possibly the A3000.

I wonder how to understand that, because if I remember correctly, according to Toni Wilen (WinUAE developer) AGA and ECS chipsets are run at the same clock speed - 3.5MHz, the CPU needs two bus cycles to access Chip RAM and it has 16bit access to AGA/ECS hardware registers.
