So, this machine arrived from Michal extremely well packed and in one piece:

All I need to do now is find my bench Atari PSU!!! I have a brand new one I was using for fixing my own machine, and there it was gone!!!
Not to worry I can always use a bench PSU, so it's all good.
I'll get it tested with SuperSalt first before I pull it apart, and as it goes the replacement GTIA isn't with me yet.
More pics as we go along.

@rubber_jonnie hopefully the chip should be with you today, I sent it first class a couple of days ago, not that that makes much of a difference these days.

Quite, 1st class isn't what it once was, and TBH the post round here can be a bit erratic, we sometimes don't see the postie for a week.

A quick run through with SuperSalt is showing the GTIA has errors, which I suppose we knew, but nice to check anyway.

Syscheck shows the RAM and ROMs are good, which I half expected, but good to know.
The other errors can be ignored as they require an external cable/board set that I don't have.
@mgi Which demo did you use BTW, it would be nice to test here with the same one before and after.

If you have Sysinfo there is a special test for this GTIA issue - could also be good to look before and after?
This is how it looks at mine:

Cool, thanks I'll make sure I check with Sysinfo and I'll have a look at the demo, see if I can compare to one of my own XLs.
Spares arrived safely from
@PhilC too :)
