Indivision AGA MK3 experiences

Hi all,

I have one of these in my Amiga 1200, there's a lot I like about it, but it also has many quirks. Just wondering what others think?

The quirks:
* Very confusing user interface design for the software
* Even when importing monitor profiles directly from the monitor, they barely display properly and always need manually resizing.
* When resizing the display always loses its integer scaling, as such text looks really wonky.
* The only way I can get around the wonky resizing is by enabling 'auto res' in the display options, this automatically scales the display to an integer perfect display, but half the time it's too stretched or doesn't fit on the screen - trying to manually resize just allows you to move the screen around but not change its actual size.
* I can only find one resolution profile that actually works and resizes itself to a suitable size (1280x1024 vsync and auto) but this only works on the desktop res, but will not work at all in game resolutions! Why on earth I have no idea.
* Even though that profile kind of works, the display will intermittently and randomly lose sync and come back.

I've tried 4x different monitors, all professional NEC and Dell models, not cheap ones. I just find it all a bit frustrating. Of course, the device is flashed to the latest firmware. One more quirk is the software won't write a recover disk for me, it just says 'cannot write to disk' when I try, even on a fresh formatted floppy.

Anyways, I know I can talk on individuals dedicated forum, I just wanted to see what other users here might have experienced with it. Perhaps I'm getting something totally wrong.

Cheers,

I have a Mk2, bought back in 2013 believe it or not. I should probably drag the A1200 out and see how the Indivision plays with some of my displays, but it'll have to wait until my Apple IIe is done as my workspace is a bit topsy turvy as a result of it being in bits...

I spent a lot of time playing with it today and managed to find some solutions to my display scaling ... selecting 1024x768 VESA as the output for the HIGHGFX: Super-High res laced - provides a nice stable and properly scaled image. I also managed to get 'normal' game output to output in 800x600 auto & vsync. This is providing a very nice image for games.

Odd behavior though when using IBrowse - here's a video: GOOGLE VIDEO

Seems to be related to CPU load? Perhaps something to do with decoding SSL. I know for sure Jens will just blame 'power supply' since he does so for 90% of most peoples issues/questions on his forum, perhaps he's right, I dunno whether this could be PSU related or not. Strange either way.

Managed to get my 1200 (I think it is an ESCOM machine) out yesterday, but the main surprise was the case, which had suddenly gone beige over the last year!!! It was quite a shock for sure.

That aside, the image was nice and clear via both HDMI and VGA, but I think my PSU is unhappy...

I have a 68030 accelerator board with FPU as well as a HDD, and from time to time I found I couldn't boot, so I'm going to recap the PSU. It does mean breaking the warranty seal on the PSU, but I think we're beyond worrying about that now...
